Syndicate Update - 18th February 2010
“One Fellas Fancy” ran a solid 3rd placing at Ballarat yesterday afternoon, after sitting outside the odds-on favorite for the last 800 metres of the race. The placing continues the very consistent form – 9 cheques in her last 11 starts, including the win at Geelong. She has had no favors in the draw in most races and has still run solid placings behind horses such as “Stunin Girl”, “Remember El”, “Art Shadow” and “Strongbow Lombo” who are all multiple winners.
The syndicate members are certainly enjoying the experience of racing “Darlin” and all the signs are good for her to continue to develop into a very nice race horse. She has excellent gate speed, but is also just as capable coming from back in the field and the times she has been running show that she is capable of being very competitive in the better quality races as they come along. All going well, we hope to gain a start in the heats of the Victoria Oaks in April.
Neil Stevens.

Syndicate Update
One Fellas Fancy has now had 3 starts since resuming as a 3 year old. She went to the races after only 1 trial and has performed very well given that she is still to reach peak fitness. Her latest run at Geelong (5th) was a good effort given she was the only filly in the race and she was caught in the death seat over the 2200m. She finished 6 metres from the winner and just missed 3rd place in a blanket finish in the good mile rate of 2.01.8, last half mile in 57.4
“Darlin” is still learning about racing, tending to be a bit flighty pre-race when at the track, but this will be less of a problem as she gains more experience. Her racing manners are improving all the time, with her only blemish being the Maryborough run where she led and pulled hard throughout. She has natural gate speed which will be a real asset as she matures with racing.
Her next start will be at Geelong on Thursday 10th December in a fillies only race and if she runs up to her last start, she will be around the money again.
The Syndicate Members who have attended her races in recent weeks have been delighted with the physical development of “Darlin”. She looks great and David & Erin Murphy are doing a wonderful job with her. As long as she stays sound the Syndicate can look forward to an enjoyable 3 year old season.

Horse Syndicate Update 16/11/09
“One Fellas Fancy” returned to the trials yesterday, coming back from an extended break after her 2 starts as a 2 year old.
She raced at Ballarat in a “combined” trial, and she was in a 6 horse field that included a couple of older horses that had each won 3 races.
Pleased to report that after sitting 3 back the fence throughout, “Darlin” came out at the 400m and sprinted home strongly to win the trial.
Although the time for the trial was not fast, it was a nice hit out first up and is an encouraging start to her 3 year old campaign.
She will have another couple of trials in coming weeks prior to being ready for a return to the races.

Syndicate Update 27/08/09
“One Fellas Fancy” will be spelled for at least 3 weeks after her disappointing effort at Geelong On August 25th.
She has been in work since January, having been taken along patiently with her education program. Her poor run on Tuesday night is an indication that she is ready for a spell.
After 3 weeks in the paddock, David Murphy will assess her condition. If she looks okay she will resume work, if not she will have a further 4 weeks off.
Her trial and race form behind “Little Elf” and “Remember El” was very promising and we are confident that she will perform well for her 3 year old campaign.

Syndicate Update 10/08/09
“One Fellas Fancy” had her first race start last Tuesday night, finishing 6th, after starting equal favorite.
David Murphy did not bustle her out of the mobile and she settled behind the leader, eventually ending up 3 back the fence with a lap to go. She did everything right in the run but was held up in the home straight, unable to get a clear run.
The mile rate was a fast 2.00.6 and “Darlin” would certainly have finished closer if she had gained a run.
David was happy with her racing manners and she will have her next start in the coming weeks.

Syndicate Horse Update – 28/7/09
“One Fellas Fancy” had her second trial at Maryborough on Sunday
She settled down second last after drawing Barrier 7, commenced a long run from the 600 metre mark, joined the leaders on the home turn and battled on okay to finish 4th
Providing she continues to work okay, she will be entered for her first race start at Maryborough on Monday August 3rd.

“One Fellas Fancy” qualifies at Maryborough
“One Fellas Fancy” ran a very promising first trial at Maryborough on Saturday morning, running 2nd after coming from last on the home turn. The mile rate was only 2.07 for the 2200m trial, but the last half was 59.2 and “one Fellas Fancy” was 6 lengths from the leader at home turn and would have run home in something around 58.5.
She left the mobile slowly but safely, settled 3 back on the fence and was shuffled back to last before coming wide around the field on the home turn. She certainly would have qualified.
Providing she pulls up okay, she will now trial at Ballarat next Sunday.
Very impressive start and syndicate members may have something to look forward to.

Update for web site - 17th June 2009
Unfortunately due to the injury the horse has sustained to her knee, the process of getting her to the trials to qualify to race has slowed us down a couple of weeks.
Around 20 syndicate members joined me at David Murphy’s property on Saturday 25th April to have their first look at “One Fella’s Fancy” track working.
Everyone was pleased with what they saw. “Darlin” (her stable name) worked nicely, showing that she is much more tractable than “Live and Learn” was. David said that he is happy with the way she is working and all going well she will be at the trials in 3-4 weeks.
The horse will again be trained by David Murphy and her breeding is “Pacific Fella” – “Medarlinone” Her grand dam is the former top race mare “Shanna Golden”.
We have been given the name “One Fellas Fancy”.
The filly will have another 4-5 weeks light work, will then be spelled for 4 weeks and then come back into work. The filly will not be rushed and I will update this web site as she progresses.
